We have been collecting crisp packets to support the Manx Hedgehog Conservation Society. Sandy came to talk to us in assembly about how dangerous litter is to our wildlife. She showed us how a hedgehog could crawl into a crisp packet and get stuck which could cause them to die. We also learned some other vey interesting things.
We learned that one well-known British crisp manufacturer makes 11 million crisp packets every day.
We learned that hedgehogs need to be at least 600g to survive hibernation.
We learned all about recycled eco-bricks and how much plastic we actually use in food packaging every day. We learned all about how non-biodegradable plastic really is.
