Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to update you with the School’s current position regarding the current Covid19 coronavirus situation. We are closely following the advice of the Department and Government, and as I’m sure you can appreciate new information and guidance is being sent through daily.
At present, anyone who shows a new and persistent cough and / or fever is being asked to self-isolate as a precautionary measure for 7 days, and anyone living within that household to also self-isolate for 14 days, to avoid spreading and possible infection.
In practice, this means that if your child has a persistent cough and / or fever we would expect them to be kept off school for 7 days. We would also expect siblings to be kept off school. If we notice a child in school with a persistent cough, we will contact you to collect them immediately from school, and also any siblings.
We are aware that any time out of school potentially impacts on children’s learning, but there are lots of ways you can keep up with learning whilst at home. Staff will be putting together a set of guidance for you in the coming days, should you either need to self-isolate, or should schools be closed in the coming weeks.
If your child has asthma, we ask that you ensure they have sufficient in date medication in school.
Due to concerns from a number of parents and staff, we are taking the decision to cancel swimming lessons for years 3, 4, 5 and 6until further notice.
The most up to date guidance from the Government can be found at www.gov.im/coronavirus
We will continue to keep you updated via e-mail, the school website and our Braddan School Facebook page.
