Success for Year 5
Our fabulous Australian Art was entered into the Southern Agricultural Show and three students were successful in gaining places! Well done to Katelyn (red certificate), Sophia (blue) and Logan (green).
We also entered illustrated handwriting, with Penny, Abby and Lily taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. This work showed a lot of determination, with some children in class practising writing their chosen poem over three times to ensure their best work. Abby chose to do a shape poem and had to really think carefully about how to change her snakes tail to fit onto her page. Mrs Ward's favourite poetry line that Edward chose was "I hate poetry, said the farmer to his wife". What a clever opening line for a poem that is presented at the show.
We would like to thank the Southern Agricultural Show for inviting us to exhibit and for providing the prizes (£5 for first, £3 for second and £1 for third). The class were really excited to take part.
