Year 6 have had a very successful first day at the Venture Centre, and have had a jam-packed itinerary.
On arrival, the children were split into 2 activity groups. Before lunch, Group 1 did the zip-wire and the assault course whilst Group 2 did archery.
Lunch was a selection of delicious sandwiches and fruit and the children ate plenty. One child is very proud of the fact that he ate 8 sandwiches (which is the record to beat!)
After lunch, Group 1 had a go at abseiling and climbing (with only a few wobbly bottom lips) before trying archery. Group 2 had their turn on the assault course and the crate stacking.
After tea of chicken nuggets, chips, and beans followed by apple crumble and custard, we all enjoyed a hike around Maughold Headland for two and a half hours – most of it in the dark!
We returned to base at 8.45 and the children are now bedding down for the night.
